Emmanuel Iyowoicho Onoja’s outlier motor popped whenever he stepped on the floor. The 17-year-old Nigerian wing accumulates blocks and rebounds , but he still needs to really improve his consistency as a three-point shooter and decision maker . For now, I view Emmanuel Iyowoicho Onoja as a mid-major target .

STRENGTHS

• Outstanding two-way motor is very evident on the glass. Crashes on both ends (13.5 DREB% + 11.1 OREB%) , making multiple efforts and often rebounding out of his area
• Above-the-rim athleticism serves to get blocks (7.6 BLK%) , as well. Length sideways and up is evident on defense. Decent at staying vertical already
• Gets up and down the floor with ease in transition. Finishes rim runs and lobs with explosion
• For now , willing enough 3P shooter (30.8 3PAr) with a workable base you can cautiously buy into

IMPROVEMENT AREAS

• Confidence as an outside shooter and, generally, spotting up still fluctuates. 25.0 3P% (4/16) and 56.5 FT% (13/23) will require an uptick in efficiency, even if he’s more of a 4 long-term
• Lots of unforced turnovers (3.0 TOV per game) with poor reads on his passes and a sloppy handle . Must improve his 0.3 A/TO from this event
• Basically no playmaking at all for others right now (5.8 AST%) . Too limited to being a play finisher — with shaky percentages — at the wing right now
• Very distant takeoff point on his drives shows up more than I’d like. Seemingly unable to extend his handle against any sort of pressure and still struggles vs. contact
