Curtis Evic projects as a two-way playmaker who extends and finishes possessions with stocks and rebounds , plus scores via spot-up threes and some driving moments. Mid-major D-I schools should prioritize Evic, but I think high-major schools should keep an eye on him too.

STRENGTHS

• Monster defensive playmaker. Great timing and strength at the rim to get blocks . Active in the passing lanes and with his hands to get steals . Can move his feet and stay in front on-ball
• Has the ability to rack up two-way sequences in which he gets a stock and then the bucket in transition
• Some grab-and-go flashes. Those extended into Evic using inverted ball screens to attack the rim in the half-court sometimes
• Extends or finishes possessions with real toughness and motor on the glass (19.0 DREB%, 10.2 OREB%)
• Playmaking feel extends to connective passing . Can attack space and find the big at the rim or kick the ball out for a decent 3P look, though efficiency needs to improve

IMPROVEMENT AREAS

• Is he reliable from three? 50.0 3P% (4/8) is very small sample size, plus 56.3 FT% (9/16) isn't encouraging. Balance on 3P shot looks good
• No midrange or in-between game. Not necessarily a weakness, but doesn’t have a pull-up two or floater that he can regularly turn to if he’s stonewalled at the rim
• Turnovers (quite improvable 0.6 A/TO) are mostly because of his handle , which needs to keep getting better against any type of pressure and in small spaces. Kills his dribble too easily and can lose the ball unforced
• Good but not great athlete. Needs a running start to truly play above-the-rim. Otherwise, more of a below finisher who doesn’t have that much wiggle, pop or natural touch
• Can be too upright on defense sometimes
