Aaron Ekwere can return value as a low-usage two-way connector who rebounds, creates in transition and generates defensive events.

STRENGTHS

• Production came on very low usage (16.7 USG%)
• Strong and competitive two-way positional rebounder who fights for loose balls. 4.5 DREB and 3.5 OREB per game with an outstanding 11.2 OREB%
• Got to the free throw line (54.5 FTr) with his physicality and big body frame. Really played bigger than his size
• 2.8 A/TO (4.7 AST to 1.7 TOV per game) for this tournament was great. Always played with his head up and made quick decisions in the open court
• Aggressive drive+kick passing game can offset his non-shooting. Was constantly looking to get downhill as soon as he got the ball, which opened up passing lanes and forced defenses into rotation regardless
• Active and versatile on defense . Aware off-ball with strong hands to get stocks. Pesky at the point of attack when he picked up ballhandlers in that way

IMPROVEMENT AREAS

• Effectively a non-shooter from 3P at this stage (0.0 3P% for the tournament on 1.3 3PA per game).
• Spot-ups are more important than pull-ups right now, but defenses will ignore both currently
• 41.7 FT% (10/24) is also concerning and an indicator of his really poor touch
• Is he always going to be low usage or can he act as more of a primary or secondary ballhandler?
• Half-court creation , both as a passer and as a scorer, is still limited. Thrives in transition
• Feel is evident, but can he slow down and operate as the pick-and-roll ballhandler consistently?
